Hello TLE Families,
We would like to inform the TLE community that we will be doing testing starting next week. We sent home the attached flyer yesterday 03/31/26 with our 3rd to 6th grade students. We kindly ask for your help in making sure students are here on time and well rested for testing on these days. They do not need their backpacks during testing so they can leave them at home and students may bring their phones as long as they are kept in the office until the end of the day.

We are excited to share that next week on March 3rd from 5:00pm to 6:30pm we will be having our third family academic night this year.
For this FAN night the skills we will be looking at is the students writing and activities you can do with them at home to strengthen their writing.

House Bill 253 is being heard 02/09 at 8:30 AM, and your voice matters.

If this bill passes it will cause a $47 million dollar shortfall for GMCS this year - but there is still time to stop this legislation from moving forward. We are asking our community to please call and email members of the House Education Committee and our local legislators and urge them to vote NO on HB 253.

Please know this: GMCS is doing everything within its power to avoid any negative consequences to our students, staff, and community. We are actively advocating, working with legislators, and fighting to protect the funding our students depend on. A few minutes of your time telling our legislators to vote NO on House Bill 253 will make a real difference. Thank you for standing with our students and schools.

We are asking our community to please call and email members of the House of Education Committee and our local legislatures and urge them to vote NO to HB 253.

Christmas themed flyer that says IMSSA Middle of Year Testing Schedule. Tuesday 12/09- reading 1 and 2. Wednesday 12/10- math 1 and 2. Thursday 12/11- Language Usage 1 and 2. This assessment will be for grades 3 to 6. We will be testing all day so please do not check your student out. Once they have started their assessment they cannot stop until they have finished. TLE Families and Community, we are excited to announce that we will be having our culture week starting on Monday, Nov. 10 until Nov. 14. In the flyer, we have all the days and information for the culture week.

We are also looking for our new Princess and Brave for TLE 25-26. We will be crowning a new Little Princess and Little Brave (grades K-2) and our Princess and Brave (grades 3-6)
Our pageant will take place on Friday, 11/14/25 from 12:45pm to 2:30pm.

Tuesday is no school for veterans day. Wednesday is our school fashion show all students will dress in their cultural attire and it is Heritage jewelry day. Thursday will be western day- wear your western attire. Friday- Search for Princess and Brave ceremony starting at 12:45pm-2:30pm. Staff and students will wear their traditional outfits.

Twin Lakes Elementary is excited to post our Red Ribbon Week.
To give some background Red Ribbon Week is an annual drug prevention and awareness campaign in the United States and started in 1985. This is a fun way for students to pledge to be drug free.
